South Lake Tahoe

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe now serves as an overarching, lake-wide animal care network, restoring welfare services to South Lake Tahoe animals from Glenbrook to Meyers.

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) has been saving and improving the lives of pets through adoptions, community spay neuter services and humane education programs in Sierra County, Truckee and Eastern Placer County for many years. In early 2019, we began restoring animal welfare services to the South Lake Tahoe community and now we're poised to expand humane education, pet therapy and volunteer programs in the South Lake Tahoe area while increasing number of South Lake Tahoe pets assisted by our no & low-cost community spay/neuter services and Wellness Clinics.

DONATE
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is not funded by the county, state, federal government or any other animal welfare agency. We rely on private support from animal lovers in our community to save lives every year. Click here to donate.

VOLUNTEER
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is able to save and improve the lives of homeless pets because of our vast network of generous volunteers. They provide support at the shelter, at our numerous events, through our growing humane education programs and through our Pet Assisted Therapy Program. In return, our volunteer programs offer great learning opportunities, socialization and fun in an environment with one goal: to help homeless pets in need.
