HSTT’s 2026 Spring Giving Tuesday is blasting off to Space: The Floofiest Frontier. This Giving Tuesday, the mission is simple: find them homes and land our $75,000 payload.

We’ve assembled an adorable crew of puppies and kittens, all available for adoption at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe on Giving Tuesday, May 19th, at 10:00 a.m. Every donation that day will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $75,000.

The adoption process will be on a first-come, first-served basis on Tuesday, May 19th, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Truckee Animal Shelter, upon approval of the Adoption Questionnaire. Although it won’t secure you a spot in line, you can complete the adoption questionnaire in advance here.  All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. The adoption fee for puppies (4 months and under) is $200, for kittens (4 months and under) is $100, and for Dogs (5 months and older) = $150.00. Questions? Email givingtuesday@hstt.org.

We apologize in advance that not everyone seeking to adopt a Giving Tuesday pet may be able to do so, as we have a limited number available. We rescue puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats year-round, so there will be future opportunities to adopt a great pet.
