Winter is coming, and it’s bringing a $100,000 match!

HSTT’s 2026 Winter Giving Tuesday campaign is bracing for a big one: Winter Is Coming. This Giving Tuesday, the forecast is simple: find homes for our featured GT puppies and make it snow with a $100,000 match.

We’ve got 12 adorable puppies from two litters, the Après Ski Pups and the Storm Front Pups, all available for adoption at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe on Giving Tuesday, December 1st, at 10:00 a.m. A generous donor will match every gift that day, dollar for dollar, up to $100,000.

Here’s how to make it snow for HSTT this Giving Tuesday:

Searching for a love to keep you warm all winter?

See all our adorable, adoptable pets available for adoption on Giving Tuesday below.

Adoption will be first-come, first-served on Tuesday, December 1, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Truckee Animal Shelter, subject to approval of the Adoption Questionnaire. Although it won’t secure you a spot in line, you can complete the adoption questionnaire in advance here.  All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. The adoption fee for puppies (4 months and under) is $200, for kittens (4 months and under) is $100, and for Dogs (5 months and older) = $150.00. Questions? Email givingtuesday@hstt.org.

We apologize in advance that not everyone seeking to adopt a Giving Tuesday pet may be able to, as we have a limited number available. We rescue puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats year-round, so you’ll have future opportunities to adopt a great pet.

Your gift makes it snow!

Our Giving Tuesday campaign is powered by a generous donor who will match every gift, dollar for dollar, up to $100,000. That means your donation goes TWICE as far, and the lifesaving potential of this storm is off the charts!

HSTT’s goal on Giving Tuesday and every other day of the year is to make the world a better place for pets and people.

Together, we can turn this storm of generosity into something worth celebrating. Cheers!
