Annica Bryan

Born and raised in the south of Sweden, Annica moved to Florida at 20 years old to pursue competitive skydiving. She came to Tahoe in 1997 to snowboard and fell in love with the area and her future husband to be, Charles. She started volunteering for HSTT in 2000 and has loved watching it grow into what they are today. She has fostered hundreds of dogs and cats over the years and “specializes” in fostering pregnant mommas. She fostered her first pregnant dog in 2006 and was amazed by the experience of watching her give birth. One of those puppies became a “failed foster” and a part of her forever family. Her two children, Emma and Rocket, were lucky enough to grow up surrounded by puppies and kittens, and they have carried this love for animals with them into adulthood.

Annica also enjoyed helping Truckee Animal Services Vet Tech, Alison, and HSTT Veterinarian, Dr. Ryan in the weekly Humane Society spay and neuter clinics. When she is not fostering animals you can find her in the outdoors. Skiing, surfing, mountain biking, camping and backpacking are some of her favorite activities. She even competed in the Tahoe Ironman. She also enjoys traveling and is currently living in Baja, where she has taken her love for animals to a new level by helping the countless stray dogs in the area get spayed and neutered and find forever homes.
