Emily is a dedicated part-time animal caretaker at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, where she provides compassionate care to animals in need. Originally from Grass Valley, California, she relocated to Truckee after earning a bachelor’s degree in Earth Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. With a strong foundation in environmental science, Emily is deeply attuned to the interconnectedness of ecosystems and believes in the importance of caring for all living beings. Having experienced firsthand the profound bond between animals and their owners, she is passionate about helping every animal find their forever home. Outside of her work at the shelter, Emily enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
