Your membership contribution will help the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) save more pets than ever before! In the first few months of 2016, the number of pets adopted from HSTT has doubled. That means we were able to assist each pet that came our way – whether they were abandoned, stray or relinquished AND we were able to rescue many more pets facing euthanasia in other overcrowded shelters.
We rely on membership contributions to achieve our mission to save every homeless pet that needs our help in our community and, when possible, beyond. Your commitment allows us to provide health care, a safe, nurturing place for needy pets to await adoption, the time they need to find a good, loving home and, most importantly, hope.
Here’s what your support will help us do:
Save every single adoptable homeless pet in our community. Not one abandoned, stray or relinquished animal in our Town is turned away. Additionally, we rescue loving, innocent, adoptable dogs and cats facing euthanasia in nearby community shelters whenever space in our program allows.
Nurture and care for pets that have no one else. Our facility includes a small medical treatment room where our amazing veterinarian performs minor surgeries like dental extractions and provides overall health care for our pets. With the advantage of affordable medical care, many older and injured pets can be rescued and rehabilitated.
Save more animals than ever before. In the first year in our new shelter, adoptions increased by 63% over the same period last year, allowing us to rescue pets facing euthanasia in other shelters. Our adoption numbers are expected to climb even more in 2015.
Expand our Humane Education, Pet Assisted Therapy & Spay/Neuter Programs. With our new shelter’s education & training room, we will host classrooms of students, have summer camps and certify therapy dogs. Our in-house clinic will greatly increase the number of low-cost spay/neuter surgeries performed for qualified, low-income participants.
As a member of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, you will receive our annual newsletter with recognition for your generous support. The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is a 501(c)(3) organization.
