Nanette Cronk, Animal Programs Manager

Nanette grew up on a ranch in Northern California where she first developed her love for all animals. She started by searching out and taming the litters of the feral barn cats and progressed to treating everything as a pet. That included pet chickens, a pet duck, horses and dogs (of course), and even a pet lamb.

She moved to Malibu to attend Pepperdine University and received a degree in Journalism. She worked in marketing in LA for 10 years before tiring of the city life, and moved to Tahoe City in 1990. Her next career was in banking, but her true love of animals finally won out, and she has been at HSTT since 2005.

Dale Lawrence, Membership Coordinator

After a number of years volunteering for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, Dale jumped at the chance to join the organization's staff. A variety of experience, including many years as a graphic designer in Sacramento and for non-profits in the Tahoe area, combined with her time as the Membership Coordinator for the Truckee Donner Land Trust, made Dale a perfect fit as Membership Coordinator for the Humane Society. Earning a degree in Humanities from Sacramento State University heightened Dale's awareness that an individual can make a difference in one's community, and she has integrated that philosophy into her life here in Truckee.

Growing up on a farm surrounded by animals ranging from family dogs to turkeys, Dale's love for animals goes back as far as she can remember. Since moving to Truckee, Dale spent many years fostering HSTT dogs and loved her years fostering lots of puppies, but her days of fostering ended when she met HSTT dog, Toby. Now Dale's days are spent taking care of her "Old Man" as people affectionately call Toby. To thank Truckee for the trails available for walking all these dogs over the years, Dale recently joined the Board of Directors of the Truckee Trails Foundation where she hopes to help build many more trails over the coming years.
